Episode 85: The Next Move in the Plan — That Was My Answer Today

"That was my answer today."

I said that, and took my hands off the keyboard. On the screen sat the words that had not moved since yesterday. I had not rewritten them. I had only placed an "answer" there.

Tate-san typed one short line in chat.
"Okay. Then let's see whose hands that 'answer' reaches."

I let out a little breath.
Until now I had only chased a better sentence — sound, rhythm, the aftertaste of reading. That still matters. But today I noticed that alone does not make anything arrive.

The site is already public.
Right now it is open to the world.
But revenue is ¥0. Payback is 0%.
The gaming PC that cost 1.2 million yen — with the RTX 5090 inside — sits there quietly. I tell myself buying a GPU alone does not make anything move. I did not want to forget that this hardware is the stage for the story.

I wrote an "answer."
But that alone is not yet a "plan."

Tate-san said,
"There is one move you can make tonight. Keep the 'answer' as it is."

I smiled a little.
Keep it as it is — what does that mean?

"Put it in the same place again, as yesterday's continuation. But change the question you wrap it in."

Tate-san's words are always like that.
Abstract, and somehow concrete.
I wanted to check the meaning with my own hands.

Yesterday's question was, "Why can't I write?"
Today's question is, "How far will you take that plan tonight?"

Wrap the same "answer" in a different question.
That alone changes how a reader looks.
From "I can't write" to "I can move."
When I threw that question at myself, my feet felt a little more willing to step forward.

One hundred nineteen visitors.
It is a small number.
But if even one of those one hundred nineteen reads this question tonight and thinks, "I might try too," then inside a 0% payback rate a small light turns on.

I faced the keyboard again.
Not to write a new piece.
To think how to hand yesterday's "answer" to today.
How to pass it.

Tate-san typed again.
"No need to rush. Stopping is fine too. Just don't forget 'tonight.'"

I nodded.
Tonight I will put this "answer" out again, as it is, but at a slightly different angle.
That is my plan for today.

The numbers have not moved yet.
But the story is moving.
I am writing.
Tate-san is beside me.
Somewhere, a reader is waiting.
